New whole-of-fund Investment Book of Record gives the investment team one trusted view of the Fund to support better outcomes for members

Sydney, Australia, 26 October 2026 ― AustralianSuper has gone live with a new whole-of-fund Investment Book of Record built on FINBOURNE Technology’s LUSID platform providing the fund with a Total Portfolio View.

The new platform brings investment positions, transactions, exposures and portfolio structures into one record, giving the investment team more consistent and timely information.

It also supports the Fund’s Total Portfolio investment approach, reducing reliance on fragmented data sources. The record improves transparency, consistency and confidence across decision-making, oversight, risk management, performance analysis and day-to-day operations.

A Strategic Partnership Delivering Long-Term Value

FINBOURNE Technology partnered with AustralianSuper to bring the Fund’s operating model vision to life on LUSID, FINBOURNE’s modern investment data management. The system is configured for the Fund’s whole-of-fund approach and built to adapt as its investment needs change. LUSID has shown it can support a sophisticated Investment Book of Record at scale, across public and private investments, direct and indirect funds.

“This is a really groundbreaking move forward for the Fund and will give the global investment team a distinct market advantage,’ Andrew Byron, Senior Director, Operating Model at AustralianSuper, said. ‘It’s a really important step in strengthening how we manage investments on behalf of members.

The new model will make it easier for AustralianSuper to operate more efficiently for members as the Fund grows globally.

It also gives us a more flexible foundation for the future as our portfolio and global investment operations grow.

We can add new capabilities without creating separate sources of information or adding unnecessary complexity. Ultimately, that helps us stay focused on delivering the best possible long-term financial outcomes for members.”

Thomas McHugh, co-founder and CEO of FINBOURNE, said:

“This is exactly the kind of challenge FINBOURNE was built for: providing investment teams with clarity and visibility across complex portfolios with multi-level hierarchy, spanning public and private markets across multiple geographies, where the data management capabilities have to be right from the start. We are proud to be the foundation AustralianSuper is building on.”

Designed for Scale and Future Growth

As complexity, globalisation and market change increase, accurate and timely data has become a strategic necessity. The solution is designed for larger portfolios, broader investment strategies and expanding operations, and its configurable data model and open architecture allow new asset classes and future capabilities to be added without material redesign.

By centralising data and strengthening governance and data quality, the record also gives the Fund a stronger base for automation and advanced analytics. Teams spend less time bringing data together and more time using it.
